“He went from 2 pounds to 9,” Christina said. “Seeing that transformation felt like watching a miracle unfold right in front of us.”

With the help of the team at Holtz Children’s Hospital, Ambroise carried her pregnancy to 37 weeks and gave birth to a baby boy, Raphael Moises.

“Hearing that was really scary,” Limas said. “The team said it was the only way to save her life.”

Brandon Smith was barbecuing, Tiffany Smith was back-to-school shopping on her phone, and the kids, 8-year-old Dylan and 13-year-old Olivia, were playing in the pool.

Alongside her husband, the two do everything together – from managing their family’s small mom-and-pop shop in their hometown of Key West to traveling the world.

“He was actually suffering from Ewing sarcoma,” said Marisel Jarrin Kleppen, Jake’s mother. “Never did I imagine we would leave the hospital with a cancer diagnosis.”

“I feel good,” Weatherspoon said. “My life is a little easier right now because I was doing everything I was doing before, but I was in pain every day. But now I’m not in pain.”
