Learn how we ensure our patients continue their educational development during their stay at Holtz Children’s Hospital.

Mailman Center for Child Development

Our staff ensures that children with medical issues get the additional help they may need to ensure their development.

The Mailman Center is a recognized Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service (UCEDD) and is Florida’s only Leadership in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) training program. It is centrally located on the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center campus.

If you’d like more information, visit the Mailman Center website.

The Jason Taylor Children’s Learning Center

Supported by the Jason Taylor Foundation, the center is a recreational and educational hub for our young patients.

The center opens the world to hospitalized children by allowing them to engage in social activities, reinforce learning curriculum through access to educational websites and the Internet, and affording them the ability to be themselves in a child-friendly setting.

The center provides access to technology even when a patient is unable to leave his or her room. Laptops are distributed in order to support family and friend connections via email, social networks and other web tools.

The Jason Taylor Learning Center has created a way for parents and caregivers to access important resources such as email, bill pay, bank accounts and educational sites. All these essential components come together to improve quality of care and to ultimately pave the way to a speedy recovery.
