The Comprehensive Children’s Kidney Failure Center
The Comprehensive Children’s Kidney Failure Center is one of three centers in Florida – and the only center in southeast Florida – designed to treat children with less than 75 percent of renal function.
Part of a statewide renal program operated under contract with Children’s Medical Services, the center is uniquely suited for the needs of renal disease patients under 21 years of age. The center provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for children with kidney failure.
The Comprehensive Children’s Kidney Failure Center incorporates:
- Chronic Renal Failure Clinic
- Pediatric Dialysis Unit
- Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program, part of the Miami Transplant Institute
We help children with kidney disease and related conditions, including:
- Bed wetting (enuresis)
- Glomerulonephritis
- GU anomalies; urinary tract infections; cystic kidneys
- Hypertension
- Nephrotic syndrome; proteinuria
- Renal tubular acidosis; systemic lupus nephritis
- Vesico ureteral reflux
- Chronic renal failure and end-stage renal disease
