Creating a Calm and Supportive Environment

We understand that undergoing a sleep study can feel overwhelming for children and parents. Our pediatric professionals focus on making the experience as stress-free as possible. From explaining each step of the process to creating a comfortable, kid-friendly environment, we work to calm fears and help your child feel at ease.

Research

Pediatric pulmonary diseases research is ongoing. If a pediatric pulmonologist from our team feels your child would benefit from enrollment in a clinical trial, you will be fully informed of all treatment options before you are asked to make a decision about participation.

The cystic fibrosis program, in particular, participates in multi-center clinical trials under the auspices of the Therapeutic Development Network of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This enables us to recruit patients to participate in ongoing research towards more effective interventions and eventually the cure for cystic fibrosis.

In addition to research in cystic fibrosis, we also conduct research in the fields of sleep-disordered breathing and asthma as part of various grants or in collaboration with other departments, including the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
